About the Company
Luxshare is a global leader in advanced manufacturing and technology solutions, with a growing footprint in the medical device sector. As part of our strategic expansion, we are establishing a Singapore-based engineering hub to enhance our global product development and manufacturing capabilities.
About the Role
We are seeking a talented Electrical Design Engineer to join our new hub and play a pivotal role in the full product development lifecycle of innovative medical devices. This is a hands-on, technical position where you will design, prototype, and verify electrical subsystems while ensuring compliance with stringent medical device regulations. You will work at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and patient safety, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust, manufacturable, and regulatory-ready designs.
Responsibilities
- Electrical System Design: Design and develop analog and digital circuits, including sensor interfaces (e.g., transducers, imaging front-ends), power management systems, motor drive circuits, ADC/DAC signal chains, protection circuits, and embedded control logic for complex PCBA assemblies.
- Engineering Documentation & Management: Create, maintain, and revise engineering documentation, including schematic diagrams, PCB layouts, assembly drawings, bill of materials (BOM), and detailed design specifications, ensuring full traceability and revision control.
- Product Development Lifecycle: Actively contribute to all phases of the design and development process, including: Concept generation and feasibility prototyping, PCB bring-up, validation, and system-level debugging, Design Verification and Design for Manufacturability (DFM). Participation in Design Reviews, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Risk Management activities. Supporting Design Transfer activities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with software/firmware, mechanical, quality, NPI, and manufacturing engineering teams to ensure electrical designs meet functional performance, quality, regulatory, and cost targets.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with applicable medical device standards (e.g., IEC 60601-1 series) and customer-specific requirements, while adhering to internal quality management processes (ISO 13485).
- Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by management to support project goals and organizational objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, or a closely related field.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in electrical design, product development, or engineering within a regulated industry (medical devices, aerospace, or automotive preferred).
Required Skills
- Proficiency in EDA Tools: Working knowledge of Altium Designer/OrCAD Capture for schematic design, PCB layout, and circuit simulation.
- Hands-on Laboratory Skills: Practical experience with soldering, de-soldering, and reworking of PCBA components (including fine-pitch and SMD) & board troubleshooting during development.
- Communication & Teamwork: To collaborate effectively within cross-functional, multi-national teams.
- Test & Measurement: Experience with data acquisition, or using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and other lab equipment for design verification.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in the medical device industry.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and quality management systems.
