SMT Process Engineer

Position Summary

The SMT Process Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, andsustaining SMT processes for PCBA assembly in optical transceivermanufacturing. This role focuses on process control, yield improvement, anddefect reduction.

Key Responsibilities

·       Develop and optimize SMT processes,including:

·    Printing parameters (paste, stencil,alignment)

·    Placement accuracy

·    Reflow profile

·       Establish and maintain:

·    Process parameters

·    Control limits

·    Work instructions

·       Monitor and improve:

·    SMT yield

·    Defect rates

·    Process capability (Cpk)

·       Analyze and resolve SMT defects:

·    Solder bridging

·    Voiding

·    Insufficient solder

·    Component misalignment

·       Perform DOE to optimize processperformance

·       Support NPI builds and process transfer

·       Collaborate with:

·    Machine Engineering

·    Quality

·    Production

·       Ensure compliance with:

·    Quality standards

·    Reliability requirements

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, Electronics Engineering, or related field

Experience

·       5+ years of SMT process engineeringexperience

• Experience in high-reliability electronics or optical modules preferred

Technical Skills

·       Strong expertise in SMT processes:

·    Solder paste printing

·    Pick and place

·    Reflow soldering

·       Knowledge of:

·    Solder materials and stencil design

·    Thermal profiling and reflow optimization

·    PCB and component design constraints

·       Experience with:

·    Defect analysis (bridging, tombstoning,voiding, misalignment)

·    SPC and process capability (Cpk)

·    DOE for process optimization

·       Familiarity with inspection tools:

·   SPI,AOI, X-ray inspection

Soft Skills

·       Strong analytical and troubleshootingskills

·       Attention to detail
