MNC Payroll Assistant Manager (1-Year Contract)

About

An established multinational organization is seeking an experienced payroll professional to support payroll operations while leading key improvement initiatives. This role is suited to someone who combines strong technical payroll knowledge with project management and process improvement experience.

Working closely with internal stakeholders and external payroll providers, you will help optimize payroll operations, improve controls, and support transformation initiatives across multiple countries.

What You'll Do

• Lead payroll enhancement projects, including payroll system upgrades and implementation activities.
• Review existing payroll processes and recommend improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
• Ensure payroll is delivered accurately and in accordance with internal policies and local regulatory requirements.
• Investigate and resolve complex payroll issues, historical discrepancies, and data integrity concerns.
• Perform payroll reconciliations and support audit and compliance activities.
• Partner with payroll vendors and cross-functional teams to resolve operational issues and improve service delivery.
• Provide guidance on complex payroll matters and perform quality reviews to maintain high processing standards.
• Support regional payroll operations and contribute to business continuity when required.

Who We're Looking For

• Minimum 5 years of end-to-end payroll experience in a multinational or shared services environment.
• Experience leading payroll-related projects or continuous improvement initiatives.
• Knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance across multiple international markets.
• Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfortable working with payroll systems, data analysis, and process documentation.
• Degree qualification or equivalent professional experience.
