Role Description The Oncology Post Basic Nurse is a full-time, on-site role based in Alor Setar. This role involves providing specialised nursing care to oncology patients, including assessment, monitoring, and support throughout treatment cycles. Daily responsibilities include administering and managing chemotherapy and other oncology treatments according to established protocols, ensuring patient safety, and documenting care accurately. The nurse will educate patients and families about treatment plans, side effect management, and self-care, while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated and compassionate care. The role also includes maintaining infection control standards, participating in case discussions, and contributing to continuous improvement in oncology nursing practices.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Nursing and Medicine, with the ability to apply clinical knowledge to oncology patient care.
- Demonstrated skills in Oncology Nursing, including assessment, care planning, and management of cancer-related conditions.
- Competence in Chemotherapy administration, monitoring for adverse reactions, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Proven Patient Care skills, including empathetic communication, psychological support, and holistic care delivery.
- Post basic qualification in Oncology Nursing or equivalent recognised specialty training.
- Valid nursing registration with the relevant professional body and eligibility to practice in Malaysia.
- Experience in an oncology or acute care setting is highly preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, manage workload effectively, and adapt in a fast-paced clinical environment.
