Role Description

• Responsible for all aspects of in-house tooling, dies, and jigs manufacturing, maintenance, development, and testing activities to maximize productivity and maintain the highest standards of workmanship in all tooling operations.
• Establish, implement, and manage the Tooling Management System (TMS).
• Develop and maintain the tooling matrix, tooling incident reporting system, and tooling risk management processes to ensure all tooling is reliable and robust for production.
• Conduct tooling design reviews, source qualified mould makers, coordinate tooling fabrication with suppliers, and manage tooling buy-off activities.
• Evaluate new tooling from mould makers prior to mass production and assess performance against planned cycle times.
• Review and optimize injection moulding and assembly processes, including cycle time performance.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for all areas of responsibility, ensuring targets are achieved.
• Continuously identify and recommend improvements to existing tooling to enhance machine and mould efficiency, with the objective of reducing reject rates.
• Review and evaluate the performance of direct reports, while providing motivation, coaching, and guidance to drive operational excellence and team success.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in tooling design, development, and maintenance for manufacturing environments, preferably within HVAC or related industries.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as metal fabrication, injection molding, machining, and assembly, with the ability to select appropriate tooling solutions.
• Proficiency with CAD software and technical drawings, including the ability to interpret and create tooling and engineering documentation.
• Demonstrated skills in production planning, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Kaizen, 5S).
• Solid understanding of safety standards, quality control practices, and preventive maintenance programs for tooling and equipment.
• Experience leading and mentoring technical teams, with strong communication and collaboration skills across departments.
• Ability to work on-site in Banting, manage multiple priorities, and respond quickly to production and tooling issues.
• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field; relevant industry certifications are an advantage.
