Role Description The Assistant Engineer (Mechatronic) role is a full-time, on-site position based in Kedah, Malaysia. This role involves assisting in the design, development, testing, and improvement of mechatronic systems and machinery used in automation and industrial equipment. Day-to-day tasks include drafting and updating technical drawings, supporting prototyping and assembly activities, conducting functional tests and troubleshooting, and preparing documentation for designs, processes, and maintenance. The Assistant Engineer collaborates closely with senior engineers and production teams to ensure that designs are practical, manufacturable, and aligned with safety and quality standards. The role also includes monitoring project progress, coordinating with suppliers or vendors when required, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives on the production floor.
Qualifications
- Possess strong foundational knowledge in mechatronics, mechanical, or electrical engineering, supported by a diploma or degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrate proficiency with CAD and engineering design tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and basic familiarity with simulation or analysis software used in mechanical and electrical system design.
- Have hands-on skills in assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and control components within automated or industrial machinery.
- Show understanding of automation systems, PLCs, sensors, actuators, and basic control principles relevant to mechatronic applications.
- Exhibit good analytical and problem-solving abilities, including the capability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Display effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with engineers, technicians, and cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work on-site in a workshop or factory setting, manage multiple tasks, and adhere to safety and quality guidelines.
