Job Summary
Join a growing Korean diner as a Sous Chef, leading kitchen operations to deliver authentic Korean dishes with high standards of quality and hygiene while supporting and developing the kitchen team.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations by assisting the Head Chef to ensure smooth workflow and service delivery
- Prepare and cook authentic Korean dishes consistently, maintaining presentation and taste standards
- Supervise and train kitchen staff to enhance teamwork, efficiency, and service quality
- Maintain strict food quality, hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety standards in compliance with regulations
- Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering supplies, and implement measures to minimize food wastage
- Ensure full compliance with Singapore food hygiene and workplace safety regulations
- Assume the Head Chef’s responsibilities during their absence to maintain kitchen leadership
- Contribute actionable ideas for menu development and seasonal specials to enhance customer offerings
Required competencies and certifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef in a Korean restaurant
- Proven knowledge of traditional and modern Korean cuisine to ensure authentic food preparation
- Demonstrated ability to manage kitchen operations and lead a team effectively under pressure
- Willingness to work weekends, public holidays, and rotating shifts to meet operational needs
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Food Hygiene Certification (advantageous for maintaining compliance and food safety)
- Positive attitude, strong leadership skills, and excellent communication abilities to foster a collaborative kitchen environment
