Progressture Solar is a Malaysian cleantech energy company and solar investor specializing in Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC). As a registered Solar PV Service Provider with (SEDA), the company supports businesses, asset owners, developers, and institutions in transitioning to cleaner, more cost-efficient energy. The team has contributed solar projects across commercial and industrial rooftops, factories, large-scale solar developments, and BESS solutions.


Progressture Solar delivers end-to-end renewable energy services, including project development, engineering, construction, commissioning, operations, maintenance, financing facilitation, and energy advisory. Guided by its mission to accelerate solar and energy storage adoption, the company helps clients reduce electricity costs, lower carbon emissions, and achieve sustainability goals through flexible, tailored solutions.


Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Business Development Engineer role based in Kuala Lumpur (Central), Penang (Northern), Johor (Southern) and Sabah & Sarawak (Borneo).


The Business Development Engineer will identify and qualify new solar and BESS opportunities, engage potential clients, and support the design of technical and commercial solutions that align with client needs and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing proposals, technical presentations, and financial models; collaborating with engineering and project teams to develop accurate system designs and cost estimates; and supporting contract negotiations. The role involves conducting market and policy research, maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, and tracking project pipelines and performance metrics. The Business Development Engineer will also contribute to continuous improvement of sales processes and assist in marketing activities such as presentations, events, and industry outreach.


Qualifications


  • Degree in Engineering, Business, Energy, or a related discipline.
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Candidates with experience in business development, sales, engineering, project management, or customer-facing roles are also welcome.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Curious, self-driven, and willing to learn both technical and commercial aspects of the renewable energy industry.
  • Able to manage multiple opportunities, work collaboratively across teams, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willing to travel when required


The Following Will Be an Added Advantage

  • Experience in Solar PV, BESS, renewable energy, utilities, construction, M&E, infrastructure, industrial, or other technical industries.
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts, drawings, or engineering solutions to customers.
  • Exposure to business development, solution selling, sales engineering, project development, or account management.
  • Knowledge of commercial evaluation, financial analysis, or project feasibility.
  • Familiarity with Malaysian renewable energy policies and programmes such as Solar for Homes, commercial & industrial solar, LSS, BESS, or corporate renewable energy initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and other relevant engineering or business tools.
