We are looking for an experienced Mainframe COBOL Developer to join a leading banking project. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, enhancing, maintaining, and supporting mission-critical mainframe applications while ensuring system stability and performance.

• Develop, maintain, and support COBOL applications on IBM Mainframe.

• Analyze business and functional requirements (BRD/FSD) and translate them into technical solutions.

• Perform coding, unit testing, debugging, documentation, and application enhancements.

• Support batch processing, online transaction processing, and JCL job scheduling.

• Maintain and optimize VSAM files, batch processes, and online transactions.

• Investigate production incidents and provide timely issue resolution.

• Support SIT, UAT, production deployment, and release activities.

• Ensure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory standards.

• Collaborate with business users, testers, and infrastructure teams throughout the SDLC.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Mainframe development.

• Strong experience with:

  • COBOL

  • JCL

  • VSAM

• Good knowledge of IBM Mainframe (z/OS).

• Experience in application debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

• Familiarity with Endevor.

• Experience with batch processing and scheduling tools (e.g. A-Auto).

• Experience supporting production environments.

• Good understanding of file handling and data structures.

• Banking or Financial Services industry.

• Deposits or Core Banking systems.

• Transaction processing systems.

• Regulatory reporting systems.

• IDMS experience is an added advantage.
