THE ROLE

As Senior Construction Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day execution and on-site management of interior fit-out and construction projects. Working closely with the Project Director, you will coordinate site activities, manage subcontractors and trade partners, and ensure works are delivered on schedule and to PLM’s quality and safety standards.

This role also involves active participation in the pre-construction and tender process, including the preparation of technical proposals and project schedules. The ideal candidate is experienced, commercially aware, and ready to take full ownership of project delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and oversee all aspects of project delivery including contract management, design coordination, and site construction

• Develop and drive project execution plans and work programmes to meet contractual completion dates

• Prepare technical proposals and project schedules, and participate actively in tender exercises

• Ensure full compliance with PLM’s Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures across all project sites

• Manage and resolve contractual and construction issues independently and decisively

• Administer construction contracts including management of variation orders, claims, extensions of time, and final accounts

• Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and trade partners

• Ensure accurate and thorough project documentation in accordance with PLM’s Quality Management System (QMS)

• Provide regular, accurate project reports to the Project Director

• Train, mentor, and guide project teams to perform at their best

• Contribute to continuous improvement of the Construction Department’s operational efficiency

REQUIREMENTS

• Degree or Diploma in a relevant construction discipline (e.g. Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or equivalent)

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the construction or interior fit-out industry

• Hands-on experience managing fit-out, architectural, or general construction projects from start to completion

• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, including administration of contractual claims, variation orders, and dispute resolution

• Experience in preparing technical proposals, project schedules, and participating in the tender process

• Ability to coordinate multiple trades and subcontractors concurrently on site

• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

• Proficient in MS Office and MS Project
