Company Description MIE INDUSTRIAL SDN BHD is engaged in major engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning projects for the petrochemical and energy sectors. The company has participated in key initiatives including the EMSB CGC & RD project and the Ethane Maximizing (EMAX) Project for Ethylene Malaysia Sdn Bhd, in collaboration with Toyo Engineering & Construction Sdn Bhd. Its scope of work covers detailed electrical and instrumentation design that complies with Petronas Technical Specifications and local regulations. Typical project deliverables include single line diagrams, lighting layouts, hazardous area classifications, grounding plans, cable sizing, and motor control schedules. MIE INDUSTRIAL SDN BHD also manages multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, QA/QC inspectors, supervisors, and site personnel to ensure successful project execution.

Job Purpose

• Manage all aspects of engineering work assigned from start to finish and ensure that all work is carried out within the set time, budgetary, quality, and technical requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Able to undertake Discipline Lead Engineer role for a project or tender work.

• Analysis of technical contractual documents and design criteria.

• Responsible for technical and quality matters of design deliverables, schedule compliance, and budget control by providing input to project execution plans and schedules for the project.

• Perform or initiate conceptual, basic design, and detail design calculations and drawings.

• Able to plan project work effectively and ensure all project work is done according to schedule and budget.

• Able to interface with the Client Engineers during project execution work.

• Prepare technical requisitions/specifications/data sheets/ MTO.

• Prepare technical bid evaluations.

• Review and incorporate vendor data and drawings.

• Provide necessary interface information to other departments.

• Provide technical advice and input to other disciplines / Project Management / Client/ Site during construction / pre-commissioning / commissioning / start-up / acceptance test.

• Assist Hos in discipline and department development work.

• Perform any other functions as allocated by HoS/HoD.

• Details discipline task refers to specific Discipline Work Instructions.

Qualifications 

• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent field.

• Registered engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).

• 6 years’ experience in executing engineering work in Oil & Gas Industry.

• Possesses high technical capability in most aspects of his/her discipline.

• Ability to plan and review all engineering deliverables/ non-deliverables documents or drawings from a technical and quality point of view.

• Able to train and supervise younger engineers in some aspects of his/her discipline.

• Able to support the Project team and/or Business Development group in discussions with Client Engineers/Managers as an expert in his/her field.

• Experience in providing input on constructability, operational, and maintenance issues in the design.

• Have effective communication skill with Engineers and Designers to ensure design integrity and consistency.
