We are seeking a dedicated and technically competent Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team and support plant maintenance, equipment reliability and smooth production operations.
Job Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating and executing preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance and breakdown repair activities for plant equipment, machinery and utilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Plan and carry out preventive and corrective maintenance for plant equipment, machinery and utility systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and engineering issues to minimize downtime and support smooth production operations.
- Maintain proper maintenance records, inspection checklists, job orders and equipment history for documentation and traceability.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety, health, environmental, food safety and company requirements.
- Support installation, testing, commissioning and modification of machinery, equipment and utility systems.
- Coordinate with Production, Warehouse, QAQC and other departments for maintenance planning, shutdown activities and equipment availability.
- Supervise technicians, contractors and service providers to ensure work is completed safely, properly and within the required timeline.
- Monitor critical spare parts, tools and maintenance materials to ensure readiness for repair and preventive maintenance activities.
- Conduct routine inspections and follow up on equipment conditions such as abnormal sound, leakage, vibration, wear and tear or potential breakdown issues.
- Support continuous improvement activities to improve machine reliability, energy efficiency, housekeeping and maintenance work quality.
- Provide technical support related to marine engineering knowledge, especially for rotating equipment, pumps, piping systems, boilers, compressors, hydraulic systems and mechanical systems.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, GMP, HACCP and company quality requirements during maintenance work in production areas.
- Report any unsafe condition, equipment defect, food safety issue or operational concern to the superior immediately.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Management from time to time.
Requirements / Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Marine Engineering, or any equivalent engineering qualification.
- Possess Third Class Certificate of Competency (COC) Marine Engineer or related Marine Engineering certification will be an added advantage.
- Relevant experience in maintenance, marine engineering, plant operations, manufacturing or related engineering fields is preferred.
- Able to troubleshoot mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, compressors, valves, piping systems, gearboxes and related plant machinery.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance, safety procedures, permit to work, lock out tag out and engineering documentation.
- Good communication skills and able to coordinate with different levels of employees, departments, contractors and service providers.
- Able to work independently, respond to urgent breakdown requirements and support operational needs in a manufacturing environment.
