Role Description The Interior Designer is a full-time, on-site role located in Puchong, responsible for designing and coordinating interior spaces that highlight solid timber products and other materials. Day-to-day tasks include developing design concepts, preparing layout plans and mood boards, selecting finishes and FF&E, and producing construction and detail drawings in collaboration with architecture and fabrication teams. The role involves meeting with clients to understand requirements, presenting design proposals, and refining concepts based on feedback while ensuring projects meet functional, aesthetic, budget, and timeline objectives. The Interior Designer will also work closely with suppliers, contractors, and internal production teams to oversee implementation and maintain design quality throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Ability to plan interior layouts effectively, with strong skills in Space Planning and Interior Design.
- Understanding of Architecture and construction principles to align interior concepts with overall building design.
- Proficiency in producing accurate Construction Drawings and detailed documentation for fabrication and installation.
- Experience in FF&E selection, including furniture, fixtures, and equipment that complement solid timber and other finishes.
- Diploma or degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proficiency in design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar) and basic 3D visualization skills.
- Strong aesthetic judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to balance creativity with functionality and cost considerations.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with clients, suppliers, and project teams.
- Experience with timber or bespoke furniture design is an advantage, as well as familiarity with Malaysian building standards and materials.
