As an Intern, you will support the development of AI-driven automation, data engineering, and analytics solutions to improve engineering productivity and operational efficiency. You will work with technologies such as Python, SQL, Tableau, machine learning, and AI tools to automate workflows, develop data visualizations, build AI models and agents, and manage data across multiple platforms. The role offers exposure to real-world engineering systems, cross-functional collaboration, and the application of artificial intelligence, digitalization, and data analytics in a global technical environment.
Your Role
Key responsibilities in your new role
- Pathfind together with internal experts on automation of engineering data: explore with guidance from supervisor and technical experts enhancements of engineering data using shell scripts, python scripts and commercial tools such as schedulers (Jenkins), version control (Gitlab), requirements (JAMA) and anomaly tools (JIRA).
- Learn to enhance coding and development: banking on your own coding skills and enhance with AI-assisted tools such as Gitlab co-pilot to speed up code and tool development
- Develop new and enhance / maintain existing tools: user interfaces, databases used by microcontroller development teams using automation such as python
- Automation scheduling: Gain know how to setup scheduler for automation in UNIX with C-shell scripts / load sharing file system / cronjobs
- AI models: build (e.g. such as using supervised Machine Learning) or utilize commercial AI models (where permissisble) to increase business efficiency
- Data visualization: Create new and enhance / maintain interactive data visualization with existing platforms (Tableau)
- Data structures , data sets and databases: setup new and maintain data structures and data sets for automation, including interfacing with commercial and internal databases such as SQL, Oracle, SAP, KLUSA API using python API.
- Automation for action: Automate or develop AI agents for proactive notification of data and user management such as email triggers and instant messaging bots on Webex / Microsoft Teams
- Mining and analysing crucial data: using scripts and/or AI search for
data from internal sources such as heat maps, incident reports, change requests, regression reports and indicators

- Obtain hands-on experience applying technical knowledge/skills towards enhancing team efficiency and effectiveness through artificial intelligence, digitalization and data visualization
- Learn new tools and methodologies in product and project productivity improvements
- Apply data analysis and processing by automation using python scripts; interfacing to various proprietary and internal databases such as SQL
- Gain overview of leading edge product development tools and database, both commercial and internal such as Jenkins, JAMA, Bitbucket, JIRA, Change and Control Management
- Experience ‘learning while doing’ in a dynamic and diverse technical community; interacting with colleagues across Asia Pacific and Europe
- Sharpen vital soft skills essential for future career proliferation after graduation in a safe environment
- Demonstrate knowledge gained from coursework and application on commercial tools such as Tableau for data visualization after gathering raw data and undertaking data structuring
Your Profile
Qualifications and skills to help you succeed
- Educational Background: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering or Information Technology / Business Analytics / Data Science
- Mandatory sufficient proficiency in hands-on python or at least similar scripting or programming language such as perl / Javascript / Tk/TCL: student will be involved in coding >80% on-job and need to hand-code from scratch without any AI-assistance
- Self-driven to learn and strive: Ready to learn and explore with minimum supervision and interact with colleagues globally
- Prior relevant technical internship or work experience: completed internships or actual salaried working experience in python scripting for data processing and artificial intelligence will be added advantages
- AI models or usage of AI models, Data Mining / Machine Learning: Have skills to develop AI model or use commercial AI models
- Database knowledge: Basic data structures is a must. Proficiency in databases such as SQL, Django, Oracle will be helpful but not mandatory
- Preferred Internship Period: Jan 27 - Jun 27
