Company Description MIE INDUSTRIAL SDN BHD is involved in major engineering projects such as the Ethane Maximizing (EMAX) Project for Ethylene Malaysia Sdn Bhd, with Toyo Engineering & Construction Sdn Bhd as the client. The company’s scope covers Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC) for complex industrial facilities. Work includes detailed electrical and instrumentation design in accordance with PETRONAS Technical Specifications and local regulatory requirements. Typical deliverables range from single line diagrams and street lighting layouts to hazardous area classifications, grounding plans, and cable sizing calculations. The company also oversees multidisciplinary teams of engineers, QA/QC inspectors, supervisors, and site personnel to ensure safe and efficient project execution.
Role Description The Project Planner is a full-time, on-site role based in Puchong, responsible for supporting the planning and coordination of EPCC activities for industrial projects. Day-to-day tasks include developing and maintaining project schedules, integrating engineering, procurement, and construction timelines, and monitoring progress against milestones. The role requires preparing planning reports, updating schedules with actual progress, identifying variances, and proposing corrective actions to keep the project on track. The Project Planner collaborates closely with project managers, engineers, QA/QC teams, supervisors, and site personnel to ensure resource allocation, sequencing of work, and risk mitigation are aligned with project objectives. This role also contributes to continuous improvement of planning processes and tools, and supports compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications

• Strong planning capabilities, including Planning & Scheduling and Planning skills for complex engineering and construction projects.
• Solid Project Control skills, including experience with tracking progress, managing baselines, and supporting cost and resource control.
• Well-developed Analytical Skills to interpret data, identify trends, and support decision-making for schedule and resource adjustments.
• Effective Communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, prepare clear reports, and present planning outcomes to stakeholders.
• Diploma or degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.
• Proficiency with project planning software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project) and MS Office tools.
• Experience in industrial, oil & gas, or petrochemical projects and familiarity with relevant standards and client specifications is an advantage.
• Ability to work on-site in Puchong, prioritize tasks, and maintain accuracy under tight deadlines.
