Responsibilities

Project Director (Solar Plant)

Location East Coast, Malaysia

Pay range: Up to RM 30,000 per month

About the Role: Provide overall project management leadership and support the delivery of the large-scale solar plant construction project across all phases from engineering design, permitting, procurement, and construction through to commissioning, testing, energisation, and final handover


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for the successful delivery of solar energy project, managing all aspects of project planning, execution, commercial oversight, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Ensure projects achieve key performance objectives related to quality, cost, schedule, and compliance, while overseeing procurement, financial controls, and delegated authorities to facilitate efficient and effective project execution.
  • Lead and oversee full project lifecycle including design, procurement, construction, testing, and handover
  • Establish and maintain effective project governance frameworks, processes, and controls to ensure successful project execution throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify, secure, and optimize project resources to support timely delivery and achievement of project objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with delegated authorities, risk management, procurement, financial controls, and workforce management requirements to facilitate smooth and efficient project delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders, leading negotiations to secure favorable outcomes and protect project interests.
  • Act as the primary representative for the project, providing leadership and oversight in both strategic and operational discussions.
  • Represent the organization in joint ventures, industry events, government engagements, and key stakeholder forums to support project success and business objectives.


Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Economics, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred)
  • 10 to 15 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, with strong expertise in solar PV projects
  • Experience working on large-scale solar energy projects is highly desirable.
  • Prior exposure to Floating Solar PV projects and related technologies would be a strong advantage.
