Role Description The Quantity Surveyor role is a full-time, on-site position based in WP Kuala Lumpur. The role involves preparing and reviewing Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for electrical, ELV, and IT-related projects, as well as supporting cost planning throughout the project lifecycle. The Quantity Surveyor will monitor project budgets, perform cost control and cost management activities, and assist in tender preparation, evaluation, and negotiation. Day-to-day tasks include verifying measurements, assessing variations, preparing progress claims, and generating clear cost reporting for internal stakeholders and clients. The role also requires close coordination with project managers, engineers, and suppliers to ensure accurate costing, compliance with contract terms, and timely project delivery.
Qualifications
  • Strong cost planning and cost management skills, with the ability to develop and maintain project budgets.
  • Practical experience in BOQ preparation, measurement, and tender documentation.
  • Proficiency in cost control and cost reporting to track project financial performance and support management decisions.
  • Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with electrical, ELV, or IT infrastructure projects is an advantage.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with good proficiency in MS Office and relevant QS software.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work on-site and coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams.
