Role Description The Software Engineer (Python & AWS) role is a full-time, on-site position based in Greater Kuala Lumpur. In this role, the engineer designs, develops, and maintains backend services and APIs using Python, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing new features, optimizing existing code, integrating with third-party services, and collaborating with front-end and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end solutions. The engineer configures and manages AWS services to support application deployment, monitoring, and security, and participates in code reviews, testing, and troubleshooting production issues. The role also involves contributing to technical documentation, following best practices in software development, and continuously improving the architecture and tooling.
Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Computer Science, with solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and software design principles.
• Hands-on experience in Software Development and Programming using Python, including building and maintaining production-grade applications.
• Proficiency in Back-End Web Development, including RESTful APIs, microservices, and integration with databases and external services.
• Practical knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and applying OOP concepts to design clean, maintainable, and reusable code.
• Experience working with AWS services (such as EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, API Gateway, CloudWatch) for deployment, scaling, and monitoring.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing practices.
• Ability to collaborate in a cross-functional team environment, communicate technical concepts clearly, and take ownership of deliverables.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with security best practices, performance optimization, and troubleshooting in cloud-based environments is a plus.
