We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Service Manager to oversee the operation, maintenance, and lifecycle management of data center diesel generators. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong leadership to ensure maximum uptime and operational efficiency for mission-critical power systems. The successful candidate will lead service teams, manage key customer relationships, optimize maintenance processes, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations for data center diesel generators, ensuring reliability, uptime, and compliance with operational standards.
  • Ensure execution of preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance plans in alignment with SLAs and operational targets.
  • Monitor and drive key service KPIs, including response time, Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), and overall equipment availability.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise field service engineers and third-party service providers, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage service budgets, optimize resource allocation (manpower, tools, and spare parts), and implement cost-control strategies without compromising service quality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues and major failures, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to minimize downtime.
  • Lead incident reporting, root cause analysis (RCA), and implementation of corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Develop and implement service strategies, standard operating procedures, and best practices to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (service, engineering, legal, finance, and procurement) to ensure service deliverability and contract compliance.
  • Support service proposals, scope definition, and tender submissions to expand service offerings and revenue streams.
  • Analyse service trends, customer feedback, and market developments to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation in aftermarket services.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
  • 5–8 years of experience in diesel generator or critical power system service, maintenance, and operations.
  • 2–3 years of experience in leading, supervising, or coordinating service teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of diesel engines, generators, control systems, and critical power infrastructure.
  • Strong familiarity with NFPA 110, ISO 8528, and data center operational standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, optimize resources, and drive operational efficiency.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills with the ability to handle complex technical challenges.
  • Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills, with the ability to engage internal teams, external service providers, and customers.
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies.
  • Fluency in English for daily communication and reporting.
