Role Description The Platform Operations Engineer is a contract, on-site role based in WP, Kuala Lumpur. This role is responsible for monitoring and maintaining platform stability across Linux and Windows environments, including system health checks, performance tuning, and routine maintenance activities. The engineer will perform incident management and troubleshooting, resolve platform-related issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement fixes and improvements. Daily work includes responding to customer service requests, documenting changes, following operational procedures, and supporting deployments and configuration updates. The role also involves contributing to operational best practices, ensuring adherence to security and compliance guidelines, and providing clear communication to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve platform issues effectively.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting methodologies for infrastructure, applications, and services in multi-platform environments.
- Customer service skills, including clear communication, empathy, and timely follow-up with internal and external stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience administering and supporting Linux operating systems (e.g., system configuration, logs analysis, shell scripting).
- Hands-on experience administering and supporting Windows operating systems (e.g., services management, event logs, PowerShell).
- Familiarity with monitoring tools, ticketing systems, and incident/change management processes.
- Understanding of basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls) and security best practices in operations.
- Ability to work on-site in WP, Kuala Lumpur, collaborate within a team environment, and manage priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Relevant technical certification or diploma/degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is advantageous.
