About the role

Asia Lab Manufacturing is seeking a Quality Check Chemist Assistant to join our quality assurance and control team on a full-time basis in Jitra, Kedah. This is an essential position within our manufacturing operations, where you will support the quality assurance function to ensure all products meet our rigorous quality standards and regulatory requirements. As a Quality Check Chemist Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity and safety of our manufacturing processes, contributing directly to our commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Conducting routine chemical tests and quality checks on raw materials, work-in-progress products and finished goods
• Preparing samples and solutions for laboratory analysis following established standard operating procedures
• Recording and documenting all test results accurately and maintaining detailed quality control records
• Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment and instruments in accordance with manufacturer guidelines
• Performing chemical analyses including pH testing, viscosity measurement, density determination and other relevant quality parameters
• Identifying and reporting any deviations or non-conformities in products and escalating issues to senior quality staff
• Supporting the development and validation of testing methods and procedures
• Assisting with internal audits and quality inspections to ensure compliance with manufacturing standards
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised laboratory environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
• Collaborating with production and quality teams to resolve quality-related issues

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related scientific discipline
• Proven experience working in a quality control or quality assurance laboratory environment, preferably in manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of chemical testing methods, analytical techniques and laboratory procedures
• Competency in operating standard laboratory equipment such as balances, pH meters, viscometers and spectrophotometers
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
• Sound understanding of quality standards, regulations and compliance requirements within the manufacturing industry
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes of quality issues
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for data recording and reporting
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and housekeeping in the laboratory
• Preferably, familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems or similar quality frameworks
