Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU) is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer. This role combines cybersecurity knowledge, technical coordination, platform support, workshop management and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will work closely with lecturers, students, internal technology teams, external partners and vendors to ensure smooth delivery of cybersecurity training, programmes and projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Laboratory Platform Support
- Support lab platform operations, including scenario preparation, lab setup and class readiness.
- Prepare walkthrough guides and supporting materials for lab scenarios.
- Provide technical assistance to lecturers and students during practical sessions.
- Monitor platform usage and coordinate with vendors to resolve technical issues.
2. Workshop & Event Coordination
- Coordinate cybersecurity workshops, bootcamps, training programmes, guest sessions and external visits.
- Manage event requirements including schedules, participant lists, certificates, logistics and lab arrangements.
- Support smooth execution of cybersecurity activities and stakeholder engagement.
3. Technical & Vendor Coordination
- Liaise with internal Technology & Innovation teams on software installation, system configuration, access requirements, network setup and troubleshooting.
- Communicate with vendors, trainers and platform providers on licensing, technical issues, scenario updates and service improvements.
- Track and follow up on technical issues to ensure timely resolution.
4. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain lab usage records, issue logs, training reports and workshop documentation.
- Support project reporting, including the preparation of executive-level and technical-level reports.
- Organise project findings, penetration testing reports and technical documentation.
5. Student & Project Support
- Assist in coordinating students, interns and part-time staff involved in lab and cybersecurity-related projects.
- Provide guidance and support on assigned technical and operational activities.
6. Exhibition & Representation
- Support APU exhibitions, showcases and demonstrations.
- Represent initiatives by engaging with visitors, explaining cybersecurity solutions and supporting demonstrations.
Requirements:
- Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and practices.
- Experience with cybersecurity labs, security tools or technical environments will be an advantage.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication skills with the ability to coordinate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
