Job Description – Purchasing Executive

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Executive to manage the procurement of materials, goods, and services required for our manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating costs, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining strong supplier relationships while supporting the company's operational and production requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Source, evaluate, and develop suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and service performance.

  • Obtain quotations, negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost-effective purchasing.

  • Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure timely procurement of materials and services.

  • Monitor purchase order status and follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.

  • Work closely with Production, Planning, Warehouse, Engineering, Quality, and Finance departments to support business operations.

  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate material replenishment to prevent shortages or excess stock.

  • Resolve supplier-related issues, including delivery delays, quality concerns, and invoice discrepancies.

  • Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, alternative sourcing options, and cost-saving opportunities.

  • Evaluate supplier performance and maintain accurate procurement records and reports.

  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, ISO standards, and relevant regulatory requirements.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement processes and supplier performance.

  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Purchasing Manager.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum 2–3 years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.

  • Good understanding of procurement processes, inventory management, and supply chain operations.

  • Experience with ISO standards, Incoterms, or import/export processes is an added advantage.

  • Able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
