About the Role

We are hiring Junior to join our growing engineering team. You will be involved in the full lifecycle of custom automation machine development — from concept design and 3D modelling, through detailed design, fabrication coordination, assembly, and commissioning. This is a hands-on, design-and-build engineering role in a fast-moving, technically demanding environment.

Candidates will be primarily based in Kuching. Candidates open to being stationed in Johor are also welcome.

Key Responsibilities

• Mechanical Design & Engineering

• Design custom automation machines, jigs, fixtures, and mechanical sub-systems using 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)

• Produce detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, and assembly instructions for fabrication and assembly teams

• Design for manufacturability, reliability, precision, and ease of maintenance

• Select appropriate mechanical components — linear guides, actuators, motors, pneumatic components, fasteners, and standard parts

• Perform basic engineering calculations for structural integrity, tolerances, and motion systems

• Design for cleanroom compatibility where required

Project Execution

• Work closely with the electrical, controls, and software engineering teams during machine development

• Coordinate with the fabrication team and external vendors to ensure parts are produced to specification and on time

• Support machine assembly, alignment, and commissioning at workshop and customer sites

• Participate in design reviews, FATs (Factory Acceptance Tests), and SATs (Site Acceptance Tests)

Continuous Improvement & R&D

• Support R&D projects and development of new automation products and robotic systems

• Perform reverse engineering of existing machines and components when required

• Continuously improve designs based on field feedback, manufacturing experience, and customer requirements

• Maintain and update engineering documentation, drawing registers, and design libraries

On-Site Support

• Provide technical support during machine installation and commissioning at customer sites

• Travel to Johor or other customer sites when required

• Represent RA professionally at multinational customer facilities

Who We're Looking For Junior Mechanical Engineer

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or related field

• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply

• Proficient or familiar with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)

• Basic understanding of mechanical design principles, GD&T, and engineering drawings

• Eager to learn, hands-on, and detail-oriented

• Willing to be based in Kuching or stationed in Johor

• Internship or project experience in machine design or automation is an advantage
