About the Role
We are seeking a competent and motivated Biomedical Engineer to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient operation of medical equipment and healthcare technology across the organization. This role plays a critical part in supporting clinical services by maintaining equipment reliability, compliance, and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, test, calibrate, maintain, and repair biomedical equipment and medical devices.
- Perform preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and regulatory requirements.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and coordinate with vendors for complex repairs and warranty claims.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory, maintenance activities, service reports, and compliance documentation.
- Evaluate new medical equipment and provide technical recommendations for procurement.
- Support equipment commissioning, acceptance testing, and user training.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, accreditation requirements, and healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with clinical, nursing, and administrative teams to address equipment-related issues and improve operational efficiency.
- Participate in equipment lifecycle management and replacement planning.
- Assist in developing policies, procedures, and risk management initiatives related to medical equipment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 1–3 years of relevant experience in biomedical engineering, healthcare technology management, or medical equipment maintenance. Fresh graduates with strong technical aptitude are encouraged to apply.
- Knowledge of medical equipment systems, preventive maintenance programs, and healthcare regulatory requirements.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and maintenance management systems is an added advantage.
Pay: From RM3,500.00 per month
