Data Centre Technician

Location: Johor Bahru, Malaysia

Employment Term: 12-Month Renewable Contract

Working Days: Monday to Friday, 5 days work week, 9am to 6pm

Salary: Up to RM3,800 per month, depending on experience

We are hiring Data Centre Technicians to support a data centre operations project based in Johor Bahru.

This role is suitable for candidates with hands-on experience in data centre operations, server hardware support, rack & stack, cabling, hardware troubleshooting, remote hands support, or IT infrastructure support.

Key Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day data centre operations and ensure smooth service delivery.
• Perform server, network and storage hardware support activities.
• Assist with rack & stack, server installation, hardware replacement and physical checks.
• Support break-fix activities for servers, network devices and related IT infrastructure.
• Perform basic troubleshooting on hardware, network connectivity and cabling issues.
• Support fiber and copper patching, cable tracing, labelling and housekeeping.
• Provide remote hands support for internal teams, vendors and engineers.
• Assist with equipment movement, asset verification and inventory updates.
• Conduct routine data hall walkthroughs and report any abnormalities.
• Follow site SOPs, safety procedures, access-control requirements and escalation processes.
• Prepare basic activity reports, shift updates and work completion records.

Requirements

• Diploma / Certificate in IT, Computer Engineering, Networking, Electrical / Electronics or related discipline.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant hands-on experience in data centre, IT infrastructure, server hardware, networking, or technical support.
• Fresh graduates with strong technical internship experience may also be considered.
• Basic understanding of servers, switches, storage, cabling and network connectivity.
• Experience in rack & stack, server hardware replacement, structured cabling or data centre support will be an advantage.
• Able to follow SOPs, work instructions and safety requirements.
• Good communication skills and willingness to work in a structured data centre environment.
• Comfortable working onsite in Johor Bahru.
• Malaysian Citizen or Permanent Resident preferred.
