Overview
The Service Technician is responsible for the installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and technical support of Luminar's laser marking, vision inspection, and automation systems. The role requires frequent travel to customer sites and close collaboration with the Engineering and Software teams to ensure high machine uptime and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Commissioning
- Install and commission laser marking and automation systems at customer sites.
- Perform machine calibration, alignment, and system verification.
- Configure PLC, HMI, vision systems, sensors, and peripherals under engineer supervision where required.
- Conduct Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) and support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
Service & Maintenance
- Perform preventive maintenance according to service schedules.
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and software-related faults.
- Replace defective components and verify proper machine operation.
- Maintain service records and maintenance reports.
Technical Support
- Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers.
- Respond promptly to service calls and minimize machine downtime.
- Assist customers in basic machine operation and preventive maintenance.
- Escalate complex issues to Engineering when necessary.
Documentation
- Prepare detailed service reports after each visit.
- Record spare parts usage and maintenance history.
- Update internal service documentation and checklists.
Spare Parts & Inventory
- Assist in maintaining service tools and spare parts inventory.
- Recommend replacement parts based on equipment condition.
- Ensure company tools are properly maintained.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify recurring technical issues and recommend improvements.
- Provide feedback to Engineering regarding field performance.
- Participate in technical training and product updates.
Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience in industrial automation, machinery servicing, or related fields is preferred.
- Knowledge of PLCs, sensors, pneumatic systems, and electrical troubleshooting is an advantage.
- Willing to travel extensively within Malaysia and occasionally overseas.
- Possess a valid driving licence.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
