Role Description The Automation Engineer role at Jabil is a full-time, on-site position based in Bayan Lepas. The Automation Engineer will design, develop, and maintain automation systems and equipment to support manufacturing operations, focusing on improving efficiency, quality, and reliability. Day-to-day responsibilities include programming and configuring automation and robotics systems, integrating process control solutions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement new technologies on the production floor. The role involves diagnosing and resolving equipment and system issues, performing preventive maintenance, and documenting technical procedures and improvements. The Automation Engineer will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, support safety and compliance standards, and provide technical training and guidance to production and maintenance teams.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong skills in Automation and Robotics to design, program, and optimize automated manufacturing systems.
  • Candidates should possess solid Electrical Engineering and Process Control skills to integrate equipment, manage control systems, and ensure stable production processes.
  • Candidates should possess effective Troubleshooting skills to diagnose, analyze, and resolve equipment, system, and process issues in a timely manner.
  • Relevant bachelor’s degree in engineering (e.g., Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, or related field) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial automation environments, preferably in high-volume production settings.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and system documentation, and to use automation and diagnostic tools effectively.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional, multicultural teams.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement; familiarity with industry standards and best practices is beneficial.
