Hiring: Junior Backend Engineer (Java/Kotlin) – Automotive Industry

Location: Jakarta, Indonesia

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: IDR 8,000,000 Gross/month

Level: Junior Backend Engineer (1–3 Years Experience)

We are looking for a motivated Junior Backend Engineer to join our client’s engineering team in the automotive industry. This role is ideal for developers who are passionate about backend development, scalable systems, and modern cloud-native technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java/Kotlin frameworks.
  • Build and optimize RESTful APIs and backend applications.
  • Work with databases to design efficient data models, queries, and indexing strategies.
  • Develop event-driven services using messaging platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and performance improvements.
  • Support deployment and monitoring of applications in cloud-native environments.
Required Qualifications

1–3 years of experience in Backend Engineering.

Strong programming skills in Java (17+) and/or Kotlin.

Hands-on experience with Spring Boot or Quarkus in production environments.

Understanding of reactive programming concepts (Project Reactor, RxJava, Mutiny).

Experience with database design, indexing, and query optimization.

Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.

Knowledge of REST API development.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Apache Kafka and/or RabbitMQ.

Understanding of distributed systems concepts (Saga, CQRS, microservices).

Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD or GitHub Actions).

Exposure to monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.

Experience using AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, JetBrains AI).
