We are seeking a reliable and technically skilled AV Technician to join our Engineering team. You will be responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of audio-visual equipment used throughout the hotel, including meeting rooms, banquet halls, conference facilities, and public areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and dismantle audio-visual equipment for meetings, conferences, weddings, and special events.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of AV systems, including projectors, LED displays, sound systems, microphones, mixers, video conferencing equipment, and digital signage.
- Ensure all AV equipment is functioning properly before, during, and after events.
- Provide on-site technical support to hotel guests, clients, and internal departments.
- Coordinate with the Banquet, Sales, and Events teams to ensure event requirements are met.
- Monitor and maintain AV equipment inventory and report repair or replacement needs.
- Assist in preventive maintenance programmes and maintain service records.
- Ensure compliance with hotel safety standards and operating procedures.
- Assist with the rectification of guest room defects and maintenance of public areas as required, particularly during periods when there are no scheduled events.
- Support other Engineering Department duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Audio Visual, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in AV operations, preferably in a hotel, convention centre, or event environment.
- Knowledge of audio systems, video systems, lighting controls, projectors, LED displays, microphones, mixers, and video conferencing platforms.
- Basic troubleshooting skills for AV and networking equipment.
- Able to work flexible hours, including weekends, public holidays, and shifts, based on operational requirements.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Team player with a positive attitude and strong customer service orientation.
