Cooling Infrastructure Leader to lead the design, operations, optimization, and reliability of mission-critical cooling systems supporting high-density AI and GPU workloads.
This role is responsible for ensuring thermal resilience, energy efficiency, and operational excellence across Nava's data centre facilities.
Role Overview
As the
Cooling Infrastructure Leader, you will own the complete lifecycle of mission-critical cooling infrastructure, including strategy, design review, commissioning, operations, maintenance, optimization, and sustainability initiatives.
You will work closely with Electrical Engineering, Data Centre Operations, Facilities, Construction, Network Infrastructure, and external vendors to deliver highly reliable and energy-efficient cooling systems capable of supporting next-generation AI compute environments.
Key ResponsibilitiesCooling Infrastructure Leadership
- Lead the design, deployment, commissioning, and lifecycle management of cooling infrastructure across Tier III+/IV data centres.
- Develop long-term cooling capacity strategies to support hyperscale AI and GPU clusters.
- Establish engineering standards, maintenance practices, and operational procedures for mission-critical cooling systems.

Ensure all systems operate with N+1 or 2N redundancy while maintaining optimal thermal performance.
Operations & Reliability
- Maintain mission-critical cooling infrastructure supporting 99.999% availability.
- Develop predictive and preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for cooling failures and implement corrective actions.
- Define emergency response and failover procedures for cooling-related incidents.
Monitoring & Optimization
- Manage Building Management Systems (BMS) and DCIM platforms for real-time environmental monitoring.
- Optimize airflow management through hot aisle/cold aisle containment strategies.
- Continuously improve cooling efficiency, capacity utilization, and thermal performance.
- Analyze cooling trends, airflow distribution, and environmental data to improve operational efficiency.
Sustainability & Energy Efficiency
Lead Initiatives Focused On

Ensure compliance with Singapore's Green Data Centre Roadmap and sustainability standards.
Vendor & Project Management
- Manage HVAC contractors, OEMs, commissioning consultants, and maintenance partners.
- Review HVAC designs, cooling capacity calculations, and commissioning reports.
- Support greenfield and brownfield expansion projects.
Leadership
- Build, mentor, and lead a team of mechanical and cooling engineers.
- Drive engineering excellence and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously improve infrastructure reliability.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with proven leadership in mission-critical infrastructure. You should have:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience managing mission-critical cooling infrastructure.
- 5+ years in engineering leadership roles.
- Experience supporting Tier III/IV Data Centres, Hyperscalers, Colocation Providers, or Critical Infrastructure environments.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, thermal management, and mission-critical facility operations.
- Hands-on experience with core cooling systems: chilled water plants, CRAH/CRAC units, chillers (air- and water-cooled), cooling towers, heat exchangers, precision cooling, pumping systems, hydronic systems, airflow management (hot/cold aisle containment), BMS/DCIM platforms, thermal modeling, capacity planning, and environmental monitoring.
- Demonstrated ability to implement and lead preventive & predictive maintenance programs for mission-critical infrastructure.
- Experience with advanced cooling technologies (e.g., direct-to-chip liquid cooling, immersion cooling, adiabatic systems).
- Knowledge of CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis for airflow optimization is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with smart cooling technologies and energy optimization strategies.
