Key Responsibilities:
SMT Process & Production Support
- Lead SMT manufacturing engineering activities to support daily production operations.
- Monitor and improve SMT process performance, machine utilization, yield, and cycle time.
- Troubleshoot process, equipment, and quality issues to minimize downtime.
- Support line balancing and production capacity planning.
- Ensure smooth operation of stencil printing, SPI, pick & place, reflow oven, AOI, and related SMT processes.
New Product Introduction (NPI)
- Lead NPI activities for SMT processes from trial stage to mass production.
- Prepare process flow, machine programs, setup validation, and engineering documentation.
- Conduct process evaluation and optimization during pilot runs.
- Coordinate with customers and internal departments for product transfer activities.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead yield improvement and defect reduction projects.
- Perform root cause analysis using 8D, Fishbone, 5 Why, FMEA, SPC, and DOE methodologies.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Equipment & Technical Support
- Work closely with maintenance teams to improve machine uptime and reliability.
- Support machine buy-off, installation, qualification, and calibration activities.
- Optimize machine programming and feeder setup for maximum efficiency.
- Evaluate new SMT technologies and process improvements.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure SMT processes comply with IPC, ISO, customer, and company standards.
- Support internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory compliance activities.
- Review process control plans and work instructions regularly.
- Ensure ESD and safety compliance on production floor.
Leadership & Coordination
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to engineers, technicians, and operators.
- Coordinate cross-functional activities with Production, Quality, Planning, and Supply Chain teams.
- Prepare engineering reports, KPIs, and improvement presentations for management review.
- Support customer meetings and technical discussions when required.
