Job Responsibilities

  • Perform daily inspection, operation checks, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and related components to ensure safe, stable, and efficient operation.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance (PM), corrective maintenance, and basic troubleshooting for electrical equipment, control panels, motors, wiring systems, and related devices.
  • Diagnose electrical faults and support timely repair of electrical components, power supply systems, sensors, motors, switches, relays, contactors, and control devices to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns and work closely with Production, Engineering, Facilities, and Maintenance teams to restore equipment and system operation.
  • Assist in the installation, wiring, setup, relocation, modification, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment and production machinery.
  • Perform routine checks on electrical panels, distribution boards, cables, circuit breakers, motors, sensors, power supplies, emergency systems, and other electrical components.
  • Replace faulty or damaged electrical components and carry out basic wiring, termination, connection, adjustment, testing, and repair work where required.
  • Assist in troubleshooting electrical issues related to production machinery, facilities equipment, and supporting utility systems.
  • Support external contractors, machine suppliers, electricians, and service providers during electrical installation, servicing, repair, and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure all electrical maintenance and repair activities comply with safety procedures, EHS requirements, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) practices, electrical safety standards, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, electrical inspection reports, breakdown reports, preventive maintenance checklists, and equipment service documentation.
  • Monitor the condition of electrical systems and identify potential faults, abnormal conditions, overheating, loose connections, or equipment deterioration before failures occur.
  • Assist in managing electrical spare parts, maintenance tools, testing instruments, and consumable items required for electrical maintenance work.
  • Support factory audits, electrical safety inspections, equipment inspections, and readiness for internal and external audits.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to improve electrical system reliability, reduce equipment downtime, enhance safety, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and 5S practices within electrical rooms, maintenance work areas, and around equipment.
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties related to electrical maintenance, equipment support, and technical work as assigned by the supervisor or management.

Job Requirements

  • Diploma or Technical Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or other related technical fields.
  • 1–3 years of experience in electrical maintenance, equipment maintenance, or technical support within a manufacturing environment such as electronics, optical, semiconductor, or related industries.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems, electrical wiring, distribution boards, control panels, motors, sensors, relays, contactors, circuit breakers, and industrial electrical equipment.
  • Familiar with preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, electrical troubleshooting, and equipment breakdown repair.
  • Ability to read basic electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams, control schematics, equipment manuals, or technical documentation.
  • Basic knowledge of PLC, automation systems, inverters, variable frequency drives (VFD), servo motors, and industrial control systems is an added advantage.
  • Experience using basic electrical testing tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers, or other diagnostic equipment is an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), electrical safety requirements, workplace safety practices, and EHS requirements.
  • Knowledge of Malaysia electrical safety requirements or possession of relevant electrical competency certification is an added advantage.
  • Hands-on, responsible, and able to respond quickly to electrical breakdowns and equipment issues.
  • Willing to perform physical and hands-on electrical maintenance work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Good problem-solving and electrical troubleshooting skills with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills to coordinate effectively with Production, Engineering, Facilities, Quality, and other departments.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and handle multiple maintenance tasks when required.
  • Willing to work overtime, shifts, weekends, or respond to emergency electrical breakdowns when necessary.
