Key Responsibilities
Motor Claims Management: Process accident reports, draft repair estimates, and arrange surveys with insurance adjusters. Negotiate claim costs and ensure all repairs meet insurance policy standards.
Operational Oversight: Assist the Workshop Manager in coordinating daily repair jobs, managing bay utilization, and ensuring quick vehicle turnaround times.
Customer Service: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, updating them on the status of their insurance claims and repair progress.
Liaison Duties: Serve as the central link between the main office, the workshop floor, and external insurance companies.
Quality and Safety Control: Conduct final inspections on repaired vehicles to ensure quality workmanship and compliance with safety regulations.
Inventory & Admin: Assist in ordering spare parts, tracking warranties, and ensuring accurate documentation for all repair orders.
Typical Experience and Requirements
Experience:
Hands-on experience in dealing with motor vehicle repairs, motor claims processing, and insurance surveys.
Technical Knowledge: Understanding of vehicle diagnostics, mechanical operations, and standard repair costs.
Soft Skills: Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills to handle discussions with insurers and dissatisfied customers.
Certifications:
Background or qualifications in general insurance, business management, or automotive engineering are highly preferred.
Tech Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and experience using workshop management software or fleet systems
