The Technical Superintendent is responsible for the technical management, maintenance, and operational readiness of assigned vessels, ensuring compliance with class, flag state, and Oil Majors' requirements. The role involves close coordination with ship crew, shore management, and third-party vendors to ensure vessels are safe, seaworthy, and commercially available.

Job Scope / Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the technical operation and maintenance of assigned vessels, ensuring compliance with class rules, statutory regulations, and company standards.
• Plan, budget, and monitor vessel maintenance, repairs, and dry-docking schedules.
• Prepare for and support Oil Majors' vetting inspections (e.g., SIRE, CDI) and ensure timely closeout of findings/observations.
• Coordinate with vessel Masters and Chief Engineers on technical matters, machinery defects, and repair requirements.
• Monitor vessel performance, fuel consumption, and maintenance records; identify areas for improvement.
• Manage procurement of spares, stores, and services required for vessel operations.
• Conduct or arrange onboard technical visits/inspections to assess vessel condition and crew competency.
• Ensure compliance with ISM, ISPS, MLC, and other applicable maritime codes.
• Investigate technical incidents, machinery breakdowns, and non-conformities; implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Liaise with class societies, flag state authorities, port state control, and other regulatory bodies as required.
• Support new building, conversion, or vessel acquisition projects as assigned.
• Maintain accurate technical records, reports, and documentation in the company's PMS (Planned Maintenance System).

Requirements

• COC Class 1 holder with sailing experience on tanker vessels / foreign-going vessels.
• Familiar with Oil Majors' vetting and inspection requirements (SIRE, CDI, TMSA, etc.).
• Sound knowledge of marine engineering systems, machinery, and statutory/class requirements.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
• Proficient in MS Office and PMS/technical management software.
• Willing to travel abroad (Fujairah) on a rotational basis.
