Job Description

As an RMA Test Technician, you will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and analyzing returned products (RMA units) to ensure they meet quality and functional requirements. You will perform failure analysis, identify root causes of defects, support repair activities, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform functional testing on RMA (Return Material Authorization) units using company-approved test platforms and procedures.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose test failures, identifying hardware or equipment-related issues.
• Perform basic debugging and verification for units with minor test failures.
• Execute testing sequences according to established work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Conduct routine cleaning and preventive maintenance of test fixtures and equipment.
• Ensure test workstations are maintained in accordance with 5S standards before and after each shift.
• Organize and maintain test tools, fixtures, and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
• Assist in failure analysis, repair, rework, and root cause investigation of non-conforming products.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation for troubleshooting purposes.
• Record and generate detailed failure analysis and repair reports accurately.
• Support Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement (CIP), and quality initiatives.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration checks on manufacturing and test equipment.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, Warehouse, and other cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and achieve production targets.

Education

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent technical qualification.
• SKM Level 3 (Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia) in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.

Experience

• Fresh graduates or Diploma holders in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering are encouraged to apply. Training will be provided.
• Candidates with SKM Level 3 are welcome to apply and must have at least 2–3 years of relevant working experience in electronics, semiconductor, manufacturing, testing, repair, or troubleshooting.
• Experience in RMA, product testing, troubleshooting, repair, failure analysis, or semiconductor/electronics manufacturing will be an added advantage.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of electronic testing and troubleshooting techniques.
• Experience using electronic test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and other diagnostic tools.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing equipment, RF Matching Networks, and RF Generators is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of LabVIEW, C++, Excel automation, and VBA macros is preferred.
• Understanding of preventive maintenance, equipment calibration, and test fixture maintenance.
• Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
