Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Assistant Engineer (Mechatronics) role based in Kedah, Malaysia. The Assistant Engineer will support the design, development, testing, and implementation of mechatronic systems and automation solutions for industrial machinery and equipment. Daily tasks include assisting in mechanical and electrical component selection, preparing engineering drawings and documentation, and collaborating with senior engineers on system integration and troubleshooting. The role involves coordinating with production teams to ensure manufacturability, participating in equipment installation and commissioning, and performing basic diagnostics and maintenance on automated systems. The Assistant Engineer will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, support quality and safety standards, and help optimize processes for efficiency and reliability.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in mechatronics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related field, with knowledge of mechanical design, electronics, and control systems.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and basic exposure to PLCs, sensors, actuators, and automation components.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation, and to prepare clear reports and documentation.
- Practical problem-solving skills, with the ability to support troubleshooting of machinery, equipment, and automated systems.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, technicians, and production personnel.
- Relevant diploma or degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering; internship or experience in manufacturing or automation is an advantage.
- Awareness of workplace safety, quality standards, and continuous improvement practices in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Willingness to work on-site in Kedah, Malaysia, and to learn new technologies, tools, and processes to support advanced engineering solutions.
