We are seeking an experienced Core Application Technical Lead with strong expertise in Life Insurance Policy Administration Systems, particularly Life Asia/Life400, to lead the technical delivery and enhancement of core insurance applications.

The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for core applications, supporting product launches, system enhancements, customer servicing solutions, and integration initiatives. This role requires strong technical expertise in COBOL/AS400 environments, insurance domain knowledge, and the ability to collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Core Policy Administration Systems and provide technical guidance for business initiatives.
• Lead the delivery of engineering solutions for:
• New insurance product launches
• Post-launch enhancements
• Customer acquisition solutions
• Policy servicing improvements
• Middleware and system integration initiatives
• Design and implement technical solutions for core applications, including Life Asia/Life400, Customer Communication Management (CCM) solutions, underwriting engines, workflow systems, and digital platforms.
• Collaborate with Business Product Owners, Technology Delivery Leads, and engineering teams to define technical designs and implementation approaches.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior team members.
• Analyze business requirements and recommend practical, scalable, and effective solutions.
• Lead assigned technical deliverables and ensure successful project execution within agreed timelines.
• Support integration between core policy systems and surrounding applications, including:
• Front-end applications
• Mobile applications
• Sales portals
• Workflow platforms
• Underwriting systems
• Middleware solutions
• Contribute to the overall Policy Administration System architecture, design standards, and best practices.
• Ensure proper application support, release management, environment management, code versioning, and deployment practices.
• Maintain awareness of insurance industry trends and recommend appropriate technology solutions to support business needs.
• Collaborate effectively with business users, delivery teams, and technical stakeholders across the organization.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the Insurance or Financial Services industry.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience supporting Core Policy Administration Systems, especially Life Asia/Life400.
• Strong programming experience in COBOL on AS/400 (iSeries) environments.
• Deep understanding of Life Insurance Policy Administration System features and functionalities.
• Experience supporting insurance product implementations, enhancements, and system integrations.
• Strong knowledge of surrounding insurance applications, including:
• Underwriting engines
• Workflow solutions
• Front-end and mobile applications
• Customer servicing platforms
• Experience with application integration and middleware solutions (e.g., MuleSoft) is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of environment management, release management, code versioning, and deployment methodologies.
• Experience working in Agile/Iterative delivery environments.
