Job Purpose

To lead product planning, localisation strategy, and vehicle homologation to ensure new models meet market requirements, regulatory standards, and cost targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead product planning activities including market research, competitor benchmarking, and product positioning.
• Develop product specification strategy aligned with local market needs and pricing targets.
• Drive vehicle localisation initiatives (nuts, components, suppliers) to meet cost and policy requirements.
• Coordinate with OEM/principal on technical specifications, engineering changes, and product adaptation.
• Manage full vehicle homologation process in Malaysia (JPJ, MIROS, SIRIM, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety, and environmental standards.
• Liaise with internal teams (engineering, purchasing, marketing) and external authorities.
• Track project timelines to ensure successful product launch.
• Support costing and business case development for new models and localisation.
• Monitor policy changes and industry regulations impacting product strategy.

Requirements

• Strong project management and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Good communication skills with the ability to work with international OEMs.

Preferred

• Willing to work with OEM/principal (China OEM exposure is a plus).
• Willing to learn even without prior experience.
