Role Description The Security Manager (Pre-Opening) is a full-time, on-site role based at Fairfield by Marriott in Kota Kinabalu. This role oversees all security planning and implementation prior to and during hotel opening, including developing and executing security policies, procedures, and emergency response plans. The Security Manager conducts risk assessments, coordinates physical security measures, and ensures compliance with local regulations and brand standards. Daily responsibilities include managing security systems, supervising security personnel, scheduling and monitoring patrols, and conducting incident investigations and reporting. The role also involves collaborating with hotel leadership and external agencies, training team members in safety and security protocols, and maintaining a safe environment for guests, associates, and assets.
Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Physical Security and Security Management to protect guests, associates, and property.
• Candidates should possess skills in Information Security and Cybersecurity to safeguard data, systems, and confidential information.
• Candidates should possess capabilities in Network Security to monitor, secure, and respond to threats within hotel technology infrastructure.
• Prior experience in hotel or hospitality security management, including pre-opening or new property setup, is highly beneficial.
• Knowledge of local safety regulations, emergency response procedures, and incident reporting requirements in Malaysia is preferred.
• Strong leadership, team supervision, and communication skills, with the ability to train and coach security and hotel staff.
• Proven ability to work on-site, collaborate across departments, and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPP, PSP, CISSP, or equivalent) and a diploma or degree in Security Management, Criminology, Information Technology, or a related field are an advantage.
