Role Description The Mechanical Technician role is a full-time, on-site position based in Puchong. The role involves assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical equipment and systems according to technical drawings, specifications, and standard operating procedures. Daily tasks include performing routine inspections, troubleshooting mechanical issues, replacing parts, and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently. The Mechanical Technician will document maintenance activities, support testing and calibration, and coordinate with engineers and other team members to resolve technical problems. This role also includes assisting with inventory of spare parts, complying with safety regulations, and providing basic technical support to customers or internal stakeholders as required.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in assembly, installation, and maintenance of industrial or mechanical equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and specifications, and apply them in practical, hands-on work.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and basic diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices, troubleshooting methods, and basic repair techniques for mechanical systems.
- Understanding of workplace safety standards, including safe work practices, use of personal protective equipment, and hazard identification.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate tasks, follow instructions, and report issues clearly.
- Minimum of a relevant technical certificate or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a closely related field.
- Prior experience in industrial, manufacturing, or mechanical service environments is an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in Puchong, adapt to changing priorities, and occasionally support overtime or urgent maintenance work.
