What The Role Is

You are responsible for the strategic planning, management and monitoring of the allocated Operating Budget for the Digital and Intelligence Service (DIS), and advise DIS entities on finance-related matters as the Subject Matter Expert.

What You Will Be Working On

  • Plan, manage, allocate and approve funding for DIS Headquarters Departments and centralised budget
  • Collaborate effectively with key DIS stakeholders to deliver the desired financial outcomes
  • Provide financial guidance and support on complex, ambiguous, or high-impact financial matters
  • Manage the integration of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital tools into established financial processes, balancing innovation with operational stability

    Challenge(s)
  • Understanding and navigating the complexity of the MINDEF/SAF's finance ecosystem, framework, policies and processes
  • Addressing ambiguities in financial policies and procedures, particularly in cross-functional or multi-agency environments, to ensure consistent and accurate decision-making
  • Managing fluctuating workloads and tight deadlines during peak periods, maintaining accuracy, responsiveness and service quality under pressure
  • Building and sustaining credibility and trust with senior leadership through clear, concise and data-driven communication, supported by demonstrable financial stewardship and sound decision-making

What We Are Looking For

  • Education in any discipline
  • At least 3 years of working experience in a finance-related role is preferred
  • Meticulous with a keen eye for detail, with the ability to identify potential non-compliances
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence across levels
  • Able to adapt to change, manage competing priorities and drive process improvements
