Job Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for leading and managing the overall operations of the eucalyptus plantation to achieve productivity, sustainability, and business objectives. The role oversees plantation establishment, maintenance, harvesting, resource planning, and operational efficiency while ensuring compliance with environmental, health, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the overall operations of the eucalyptus plantation, ensuring activities are carried out efficiently and according to operational plans.
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor plantation activities, including land preparation, planting, fertilisation, weed control, pruning, thinning, harvesting, and replanting.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to improve plantation productivity, yield, and cost efficiency.
• Manage daily field operations and supervise estate managers, supervisors, contractors, and plantation workers.
• Monitor plantation growth, tree health, and productivity, ensuring appropriate silvicultural practices are implemented.
• Prepare annual operational plans, budgets, and forecasts, and monitor performance against established KPIs.
• Ensure efficient utilisation of manpower, machinery, equipment, and other operational resources.
• Coordinate harvesting schedules and transportation logistics to meet production and delivery timelines.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, occupational safety and health requirements, and company policies.
• Identify operational risks and implement mitigation plans to minimise disruptions.
• Monitor and control operational costs while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
• Prepare and present operational reports, performance analysis, and improvement plans to Management.
• Work closely with internal departments, consultants, government agencies, contractors, and external stakeholders on plantation-related matters.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives through the adoption of best forestry and plantation management practices.
• Perform any other duties assigned by Management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Forestry, Plantation Management, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in plantation, forestry, timber, or agricultural operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial position.
• Experience managing large-scale plantation or forestry operations is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of silviculture, plantation establishment, harvesting operations, and sustainable land management.
• Experience in budgeting, cost control, operational planning, and workforce management.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and operational reporting systems.
• Willing to travel regularly to plantation sites.
• Possess a valid driving licence.

Pay: RM5,500.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
