Job Title: Construction Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead and oversee the execution of a marine construction project near Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all site construction activities, ensuring the project is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contractual, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all on-site construction activities for the marine construction project.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise construction works to ensure timely project delivery.
- Oversee subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and site personnel to ensure efficient project execution.
- Monitor project progress, schedules, and resource allocation, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, contract requirements, and applicable engineering standards.
- Enforce compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE), and Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
- Coordinate with the Client, Consultants, Project Manager, and relevant authorities on technical and construction matters.
- Review construction methodologies, work sequences, and technical issues, providing practical engineering solutions.
- Identify and manage project risks, resolve site challenges, and oversee variation or change management where applicable.
- Prepare and review project progress reports, construction schedules, and site documentation.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the site engineering and construction teams to achieve project objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
- A valid BEM Practising Certificate is an added advantage or required, subject to project/client requirements.
- Minimum 10–15 years of relevant construction experience, including experience in managing infrastructure or marine construction projects.
- Experience in marine infrastructure projects, such as jetties, wharves, ports, coastal protection works, reclamation, bridges, or similar civil engineering projects, is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction planning, project management, contract administration, construction methodologies, and engineering standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead site teams, coordinate with the Client, and deliver projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
- Willing to be based at the project site near Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
