The Interior Designer is responsible to assist the design team in preparing design proposals, technical drawings, 3D visualizations, and project documentation for interior design and furniture projects.
Responsibilities:
1) Design & Documentation
- Prepare detailed drawings and proposals for design & build projects and tender submissions.
- Develop layout plans, material selections, and design presentations (including 3D visuals) for loose furniture packages.
- Produce technical shop drawings for loose furniture, interior design, and fit-out packages.
- Create detailed construction drawings for both loose and fixed furniture items for factory production.
2) Client & Project Coordination
- Collaborate with clients and consultants to gather project requirements.
- Provide professional space planning advice and present creative design solutions.
- Support and monitor projects throughout all phases, ensuring timely completion.
- Engage with internal teams including Quantity Surveyors and Project Teams to align design and execution.
3) Digital Design & Virtual Tools
- Develop e-commerce design concepts and maintain digital SKUs for loose furniture.
- Support Virtual Reality (VR) projects and create visual layout libraries for sales teams.
- Conduct training sessions on design tools for business partners when needed.
4) Site Visits & Implementation
- Conduct site visits for measurement and verification
- Coordinate on-site works to ensure proper design implementation
- Present design concepts to clients and ensure proper furniture layout
- Work closely with project team for smooth execution of the interior works
5) Undertake other assigned tasks as required.
Job Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- Basic knowledge of space planning, furniture design, and interior fit-out works.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D rendering software, and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of VR and 3D visualization software is an added advantage.
- Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Creative, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.
- Experience in furniture design or fit-out projects is an added advantage
