Full Time Database Migration Engineer Jobs, Salary up to SGD 8,000 in AMBITION GROUP SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. Islandwide (Singapore) - Maukerja

We are seeking highly experienced Database Migration Engineer to lead enterprise-scale migrations of Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases from on-premises environments to Azure Managed Database Services.

The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on migration expertise, deep knowledge of Azure migration tools, and experience developing migrationarchitectures, SOPs, runbooks, and operational checklists.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-end migration for MS SQL Server and Oracle databases from on-premises to Azure.
• Plan and execute database migrations using Azure Database Migration Service (DMS) and other Azure migration tools.
• Assess database compatibility, performance, dependencies, and migration readiness.
• Create detailed migration runbooks, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), technical checklists, and rollback plans.
• Perform schema conversion, database replication, data validation, reconciliation, and performance tuning.
• Automate migration activities using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or scripting where applicable.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, networking, security, and cloud engineering teams to ensure successful migration and post-migration optimisation.
• Troubleshoot migration issues and optimise Azure managed database performance.

Required Skills

• 8-15 years of Database Administration and Migration experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle Database Administration.
• Proven experience migrating enterprise databases from on-premises to Azure.
• Hands-on expertise with Azure Database Migration Service (DMS).
• Experience with Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and Oracle on Azure.
• Strong knowledge of HA/DR, backup and recovery, replication, Always On Availability Groups, Oracle Data Guard, RMAN, and database security.
• Experience performing database assessments, sizing, performance tuning, and optimisation.
• Strong scripting skills using PowerShell, T-SQL, PL/SQL, and Azure CLI.
• Experience creating migration architecture documents, technical design documents, SOPs, runbooks, cutover plans, rollback plans, and migration checklists.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Azure Migrate, Azure Landing Zones, networking, private endpoints, and hybrid connectivity.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Bicep and CI/CD integration.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes/OpenShift-hosted database workloads and cloud-native architectures.
• Azure certifications such as Azure Database Administrator Associate (DP-300) or Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) are preferred.
