About the role

Alephys is looking for an experienced Java Backend Developer to join our growing engineering team in Malaysia. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java/J2EE development, backend integrations, API development, and Oracle databases. You will work on enterprise-grade applications, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to building scalable, secure, and high-performance backend solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Java/J2EE technologies.
• Develop and integrate backend services, REST APIs, and web services.
• Work with distributed architectures by integrating internal and external applications.
• Understand and implement API authentication and integration patterns.
• Develop interfaces to support backend systems and self-service workflows.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
• Perform unit testing, prepare system test cases, and support integration testing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve integration-level issues across multiple systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, third-party vendors, and stakeholders during implementation.
• Use Git/Azure DevOps (ADO) for source code management and version control.
• Ensure timely delivery of assigned development tasks with high-quality standards.
• Continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and project requirements.

Required Skills And Qualifications

• 5–8 years of hands-on experience in Java/J2EE backend development.
• Strong knowledge of Core Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Web Services.
• Experience working with Oracle Database.
• Good understanding of distributed systems and enterprise integration patterns.
• Knowledge of API authentication mechanisms (OAuth, JWT, Basic Authentication, etc.).
• Experience with Git-based repositories (Azure DevOps/Git preferred).
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with multiple stakeholders.
• Quick learner with a proactive mindset.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with enterprise application integration.
• Exposure to cloud platforms or microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
