Role Description This full-time, on-site CNC Programmer role is based in Bayan Lepas and focuses on programming and optimizing CNC machines for precision manufacturing. The CNC Programmer will interpret technical drawings and specifications, develop and modify CNC programs, and set up machining and milling operations to meet quality and efficiency requirements. Day-to-day tasks include selecting appropriate tools and fixtures, verifying dimensions and tolerances, and performing test runs to ensure accurate production. The role also involves troubleshooting programming and machining issues, collaborating with production and quality teams, and maintaining documentation for programs, setups, and process improvements. The CNC Programmer is expected to follow all safety protocols and support continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Strong technical drawing and blueprint reading skills, with the ability to interpret dimensions, tolerances, and geometric specifications.
• Proficiency in CNC programming and general programming concepts for machining centers and related equipment.
• Hands-on experience in machining and milling operations, including setup, tooling selection, and process optimization.
• Knowledge of CNC controls and relevant software (e.g. MASTERCAM systems) and the ability to update and maintain programs.
• Attention to detail with solid problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve machining and dimensional issues.
• Ability to work on-site in a manufacturing environment, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and manage multiple jobs efficiently.
• Understanding of safety standards and quality control practices in precision engineering or metalworking.
• Relevant technical certificate or diploma in machining, manufacturing technology, mechanical engineering, or a related field; prior experience in CNC programming in a precision engineering setting is highly beneficial.
