We are currently seeking an experienced IBM S/390 COBOL Developer to join our Technology team in Malaysia. This role offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical banking and payments systems while collaborating with global teams to deliver high-quality solutions for enterprise clients.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and configure AS400 / IBM S/390 COBOL software modules, interfaces, and components.
  • Deliver high-quality software solutions that meet business and technical requirements within established timelines.
  • Analyze and implement enhancements to improve system functionality and user experience.
  • Apply software development standards, methodologies, and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including development, testing, deployment, and application support.
  • Collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, technical teams, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Continuously enhance technical knowledge and stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 5–8 years of experience in AS400 or IBM S/390 COBOL development.
  • Strong knowledge of COBOL, SQL, and DB2 databases.
  • Experience within the Banking industry, preferably in the Payments domain.
  • Familiarity with JIRA and ALDON.
  • Experience supporting and maintaining enterprise applications across the SDLC.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to work closely with clients and cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
