Job Description – Reporting Analyst

Position: Reporting Analyst

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Employment Type: Full-Time

Experience: 10+ Years

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Reporting Analyst to join our team in Kuala Lumpur. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Power BI, SQL, and Microsoft Excel, with a proven track record of transforming complex data into meaningful business insights. You will be responsible for data extraction, reporting, KPI tracking, SLA monitoring, and ensuring the accuracy and quality of business data to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Extract, transform, validate, and analyze data from multiple data sources.
  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, reporting, and analysis.
  • Develop and maintain recurring operational and management reports.
  • Perform data quality checks, identify discrepancies, and ensure data integrity.
  • Conduct trend, variance, and root cause analysis to provide actionable business insights.
  • Monitor and report on key business KPIs and SLAs.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and deliver effective reporting solutions.
  • Automate reporting processes where possible to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support ad-hoc reporting and data analysis requests from business teams.
  • Document reporting processes, data definitions, and reporting standards.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in Reporting, Business Intelligence, or Data Analytics.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Power BI, including dashboard and report development.
  • Advanced SQL skills for querying, data extraction, and data manipulation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, advanced formulas, charts, and data analysis.
  • Experience with data extraction, transformation, and validation processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience in KPI reporting, SLA reporting, and performance analysis.
  • Ability to work with large datasets and convert data into meaningful business insights.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with enterprise reporting or Business Intelligence environments.
  • Knowledge of ETL processes and data warehousing concepts.
  • Experience with reporting automation and process improvement initiatives.
  • Exposure to cloud-based reporting platforms is an advantage.
